Handling Specimens

Customer provides specimens.
The better the specimen, the better the mount.

To carefully prepare your specimen:
1. Note entire condition of your specimen.
2. It is NOT necessary to field dress turkeys. We will save the breast meat for you.
3. Contact us immediately if possible, or carefully place bird head first in a good garbage bag and place in freezer. Do not wrap bird in paper or foil. Be careful not to damage the feathers. Avoid leaving birds in a frost-free freezer for any length of time, since it will dry the bird and make it harder to get a good mount.

Shipping specimens:
Federal and State laws require documentation to accompany bird/mammal species during shipping. Call to discuss documentation needed and best shipping methods.
